Free Form Walking Sticks by Brazos Walking Sticks Made in USA

The Free Form Walking Stick is a handcrafted product made in the USA by skilled craftsmen using the highest quality materials and time-tested methods. Each stick is made from carefully selected wood that is meticulously cut, sanded, and sprayed with a protective clear coat lacquer to bring out its natural beauty. The finished product is a walking stick that's durable, dependable, and strong. The staff also comes with a standard rubber ferrule for a firm, secure grip on virtually any surface. Whether you're trekking through miles of wooded terrain, or walking casually around your neighborhood, the Free Form Walking Sticks are the perfect choice for those seeking timeless, rustic appeal coupled with legendary durability.

Select Type of Wood/Stick:

  • Hickory - a strong, durable wood that is able to withstand the most strenuous conditions. Its unparalleled strength has made it a wood of choice for tool handles, bows, and baseball bats. (As shown in Photo 1)

  • Dogwood is a hard, dense wood, making it suitable for both arduous hikes through rugged terrain and casual strolls through picturesque walking trails. Dogwood has a dark, flaky bark with a pinkish and creamy white center.(As shown in Photo 2)

  • Sassafras - makes for a strong and relatively lightweight staff. When finished, the beautiful bark takes on an orange-red hue resulting in a walking aid that's both functional and attractive. (As shown in Photo 3)

  • Sweet Gum - with its strength and relative light weight, sweet gum makes for an ideal walking staff. Both collectors and avid hikers will be pleased to add this staff to their repertoire. (As shown in Photo 4)

  • Ironwood - Please note that it is common for ironwood sticks to have cracks, especially on the ends. These naturally formed cracks do not inhibit the stability of ironwood staffs in any way. They are also known as American Hornbeam and are a popular choice for those seeking an extremely strong stick coupled with a one-of-a-kind look and feel. Its bark resembles a deer antler and is naturally ridged. (As shown in Photo 5)

The Free Form Walking Sticks come in one of four sizes: 41-inches (primarily a child's size), 48-inches, 55-inches, and 58-inches. Sizing a walking stick is in many ways subjective; however, here are suggestions for choosing a correct walking stick size:

  • For small children and shorter adults, we generally recommend a 41-inch stick.
  • For people who are shorter than 5'4", we recommend a 48-inch stick.
  • For people who are between 5'4" and 5'11", we recommend a 55-inch stick.
  • For adults over 5'11", we recommend a 58-inch stick.
